About

Governor Phil Murphy has signed a joint resolution designating the second Monday in May as “Economic Development Day” in New Jersey.

This resolution aims to encourage public officials, business leaders, and residents to organize and attend events to discuss job creation, economic resiliency, and the optimization of economic development programs. The resolution was sponsored by Senator Robert Singer, Senator Loretta Weinberg, Assemblyman Edward Thomson, Assemblyman Sean Kean, and Assemblywoman Betty Lou DeCroce.

In line with this, a Pre NJ Economic Development Day Summit is scheduled to take place on February 29th at the Strand Theater in Lakewood, NJ.

This summit will bring together leaders from Chambers of Commerce, Economic Development Organizations, and other business and community leaders to discuss and collaborate on economic development initiatives. Notable figures such as Tim Sullivan, CEO of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, and Tom Bracken, President of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, will be lending their perspectives and expertise on driving economic growth in the state.

The summit aims to facilitate open discussions, idea sharing, and networking opportunities to strengthen collective efforts towards economic development. With the recent declaration of “Economic Development Day,” this summit provides a timely platform for leaders to align their efforts in support of this important initiative. Overall, the Pre NJ Economic Development Day Summit promises to be an impactful event that will drive collaboration and partnership building to advance economic growth and job creation in New Jersey.
